Fourth Year Computer Science Students

My name is Ross Cawley. I just finished a 4 year degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering. I came to Maynooth as it is local to me and my friends said it was a good choice. First and second year was a good mix of practical and theory however I found third and fourth year were heavily theory based. Fourth year was grand with the project and options we had. The Programming Support Centre, Maths Support Center and my demonstrators and supervisors were really good supports. They all helped me a lot at different times of my degree. I've learned a lot in my time at Maynooth. I feel all this information has prepared me for industry. I have learned a good bit of practical/logic/analytical based skills. It's not all programming. There's some heavy theory involved. The supports/facilities of MU are great, especially for CS - that's class.

Hi my name is Muhammad Afan, I just finished my degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering. I came to Maynooth as I came to the CS Summer Camp and got a taste for Computer Science while there. I really enjoyed it so I decided to do my degree here. The programming support centre, lecturers helped me a lot and the labs and assignments helped me to understand course content. I feel the course as prepared me for industry. I think the placement in third year was a big help to prepare me for industry. My advice would be to  enjoy it, get involved in Maynooth, Computer Science is a challenging yet rewarding environment.
